A hummingbird was donated to the silent auction of the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indian September 2006 meeting in Lincoln City, Oregon.

 


 

 

Ronald McDonald House Auction

 

HOORAY!  This carving brought $1,500.00 to this worthy fundraiser!  According to Kate Van Dyke, this is the equivalent of 29 nights for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House!

Eighteenth Annual Ronald McDonald House Auction, it will be held at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel and Towers on Saturday, September 30, 2006.  The donation of this art piece was coordinated by Kate Van Dyke [kate@rmhcseattle.org].

 

Kevin "Wa lee hub" Paul, born in 1960, is an enrolled tribal member of the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community and a resident of Swinomish and LaConner, Washington.  Kevin is a master carver of contemporary and traditional Native American carvings.  Using red and yellow cedar, alder and pine, he carves in these styles:  Coast Salish, Gitksan, Nis'gaa, Tlingit, Haida, and Kwakiutl. Kevin is a renowned drummer, singer, designer and teacher. His works are commissioned by communities and cities and are in private collections throughout the country. His lectures, shows and classes, along with his dedication to community and tradition, have enriched the lives of children and communities nationwide.

Skagitonians to Preserve Farmland Art Show from May 13 - 21, 2006, held at the Edison Eye Gallery.  Kevin's piece, "Skagit Sunrise" was featured on the postcard announcing the group show.  A portion of the proceeds of the sale of this piece of art goes to Skagitonians to Preserve Farmland.
